Email Confirmation Requirement

Mailbox and distributor email spam rules have become far stricter since the African Leadership Institute first created it's subscribe list.  Subscribers who joined the list but did not confirm their email address are now being flagged. To meet these new rules to meet compliance, AFLI is cleaning its mailing list.  This may mean that your email address may be removed and should you wish to keep receiving mail from AFLI, that you will need to resubscribe below and confirm your email address. Buenos Aires honours Tutu Fellow

Tutu Fellow Sello Hatang has been honoured by the city of Buenos Aires in recognition for his work at the Nelson Mandela Foundation, which he leads.  He was given an honorary diploma by the city, which is Argentina's largest, and declared a Guest of Honor.  The honor is not lightly bestowed and is the first to be awarded since 2015.

South Africa's Ambassador to Argentina in Buenos Aires, Patience Phumelele Gwala, also attended the event.  The Vice President of the city's legislature, congresswoman Carmen Polledo made special reference to Nelson Mandela, who was South Africa's first president elected by universal suffrage.  Like South Africa, Argentina is no stranger to political discord and has also had dark chapters, such as the estimated 13,000 people who were 'disappeared' by the Chilean Secret Police.  Polleda highlighted the work being done by the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Hatang as a force for and a defender of freedom and equality.  During the ceremony, Hatang made a call for inclusion, with a special focus on women and children.
