Professional History: Kola Oyeneyin is the Co-founder and director of Volition Capital, an asset management company operating in the US and Africa. Kola brings all of the experience he has from previous roles to this, his own company. He is responsible for deal sourcing and structuring, commercial negotiations, and co-managing the large, member-based collective. At Volition Cap, he drives strategic partnerships and global growth, and at Volition Blue LLC, a US-based company, he’s focused on bridging the Africa and the US Markets.
Prior to this, he was Founder and CEO of Venia Group, a service-driven venture creation and development company that created opportunities for small and medium sized businesses. One of the companies under Venia's umbrella was AutoGenius, Nigeria's first digital insurance platform that was established in partnership with the top five insurance companies in Nigeria. He was also Business Manager for the Lekki British School in Nigeria and a Business Analyst for Hewlett Packard in the UK. Venia was recognized as one of the Companies to Inspire Africa by the London Stock Exchange Group.
Kola hasn't only been active in the business community. He is Founder & Chairperson of the Kola Oyeneyin Foundation, that was set up to mobilize, build and activate young Africans to maximize their potential and catalyze transformational development in their communities. He is also the Founder and Convener of the Adullam Network, which was created to raise young men to live a purpose-driven life, by grooming and mentoring them. He also was the Founder and Convener of GenVoices, a non-partisan organization created to prepare young people for political engagement for nationbuilding and for the common good. This organisation has gone on to establish more than 40 chapters across Nigeria and globally.
He is an Associate Fellow of the Nigerian Leadership Initiative; a Gleitsman Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School's Center for public leadership; and was also awarded an Edward Mason Fellowship. In 2013, he was nominated as Entrepreneur of the Year, Future Awards Africa and in 2018, was appointed a member of the Vice President of Nigeria’s Advisory Group on Technology & Creativity.
