Professional History: Hynd Bouhia PhD is CEO of Strategica (www.strategica.ma), an international consulting firm specializing in economic intelligence and consulting strategy. She is a professor of sustainable development and a member of Harvard’s environmental studies research team, and of Johns Hopkins University’s Society of Scholars. Hynd has held leadership positions in both the public and private sectors. In the 1990s, she began her career at the World Bank, helping advance environmental and sustainable development projects throughout Latin America, South East Asia, and the Middle East and North Africa region, funding many through bonds of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

In 2004 she returned home to help Morocco Prime Minister Driss Jettou set up national sectoral strategies, and structure the nation’s Compact for the Millennium Challenge Corporation. Four years later she was appointed Director-General of Casablanca Stock Exchange, then later took charge of investment strategies for Morocco’s Sovereign Fund CDG Development. Hynd was then in charge of the structuring of several investment funds for green projects and for innovative startups. Her experience raising and investing funds toward renewable energy earned Bouhia seats on the board of corporations, the Air Liquide Foundation for Development and the Environment, and the jury of the MBC Television program, “Stars of Science.”

Hynd graduated with a degree in engineering from Ecole Centrale Paris, went on to earn an MS and Ph.D. from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Harvard University. She completed her studies with an MA from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. A distinguished Harvard alumni, Dr. Hynd has been accepted as an Archbishop Tutu African Leadership fellow; honored by the Divine French Academy of Arts and Culture in Paris; recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the world’s most influential women in business, and awarded a prize for piano playing excellence from the Casablanca Conservatory of Music.

Hynd Bouhia PhD is the author of many articles and several books, including Water in the Macro-economy: an integrated analytical model (Ashgate); a motivation book entitled African Girl, African Woman: how agile and tech-savvy female can change the continent …for good (Editions Orion); and a french inspirational book by the same editing house: Filles et Femmesde l’Afrique Moderne: Comment deviennent-elles les leaders du continent (Editions Orion).
