Professional History: Vikesh is the Cross Border Payments - Global Sales Head at Citi. Prior to this, he was the Director and Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) Sales Head for Multinational Corporates across the Middle East, North Africa & Pakistan (MENAP) for Citibank N.A., DIFC. In his role, he is responsible for providing solutions & consultancy across Cash Management and Trade Services/Finance across the MENAP cluster to Citi’s Global Multinational Corporates.

Prior to his appointment to the current role in August 2012, Vikesh was the Global Transaction Services Head for Citibank Qatar & Bahrain since January 2008. From 2003 to 2007, Vikesh was in Africa and his experience includes Deputy Corporate Bank Head at Stanbic Bank Kenya Limited (part of Standard Bank of South Africa), Senior Relationship Manager in Citibank Uganda, and Relationship Manager in Citibank Kenya. Vikesh’s career started in August 1999 with a regional bank in Kenya - Investments & Mortgages (I&M) Bank, where he completed his Management Trainee program before he was appointed as a Relationship Officer.

He was a member of the Rhodes Scholarship Selection Committee in UAE, the Global & inaugural Selection Committee for the Schwarzman Scholarship, a member of the Crans Montana Forum, and an alumnus of the Archbishop Desmond Tutu Scholarship (run by African Leadership Institute in conjunction with Oxford University). He also sat on the Board of Governors of Doha College (the oldest British school in Qatar).

He also assisted his son to commence a glasses project for needy kids in Kenya in partnership with Al Jaber Optical UAE and Lions Club Kenya supported 60,000 kids getting their eyes tested and a number receiving tailor-made prescription glasses. His son won the prestigious Princess Diana award for philanthropy for this project. Recently, he assisted his daughter start a ‘used books’ donation project from UAE to Kenya resulting in 11 libraries having been set up in needy schools in Nairobi already, each stocked with 1,000 books. The goal is to continue setting up more libraries in Kenya and expand to other countries.

He is currently testing out an EdTech venture (Tavvy) which is a marketplace for educators, global university alumni, and mentors to support students globally with a focus on Africa and the Middle East.
