Job Title: Consultant and Tutu Leadership Fellowship Director

Organisation: Hellinger Institute and AFLI

Professional History: Judy Malan has joined AFLI in a part-time capacity as director of the Tutu Leadership Fellowship, while retaining her independent consultancy. Her work is with senior teams at large institutions and systems, helping them to align their strategic intent and improve the effectiveness of the way in which they collaborate, lead and engage their eco-system towards its realization. She also supports C-suite leaders as an executive coach. One of her focus areas is enabling groups to collaborate effectively where conflicting worldviews co-exist, such as in multi-cultural settings and public-private-social sector partnerships. Enabling groups to have generative dialogues in conditions of complexity and uncertainty is another.

Prior to starting her own practice in 2013, Judy spent 14 years with McKinsey & Company, where she was a partner of the Firm from 2004, based in the Johannesburg office. During this time her work focused on enabling large-scale performance transformation programs, with a particular focus on organizational culture and leadership. She also had the opportunity to lead both the Organization and Public Sector practices for McKinsey in the region.
