Email Confirmation Requirement

Mailbox and distributor email spam rules have become far stricter since the African Leadership Institute first created it's subscribe list.  Subscribers who joined the list but did not confirm their email address are now being flagged. To meet these new rules to meet compliance, AFLI is cleaning its mailing list.  This may mean that your email address may be removed and should you wish to keep receiving mail from AFLI, that you will need to resubscribe below and confirm your email address. Tutu Fellow on Forbes’ Most Promising list for 2016

Tutu Fellow Ntombenhle Khathwane has been included on the Forbes 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs in Africa 2016 list.  The Swazi-born entrepreneur is the founder of AfroBotanics, a Johannesburg-based company that makes ethnic hair and body-care products.  The Forbes African entrepreneurs list began in 2011 and has featured several other Tutu Fellows since its inception.

  It comprises African entrepreneurs below the age of 35 who are building thriving million-dollar businesses.  The author of the article, Mfonobong Nsehe , said that there is greater competition to be on the list as there is an incredible wave of entrepreneurship that is transforming economies on the continent.   Nsehe said young Africans are increasingly catching the entrepreneurial bug, creating remarkable businesses that are solving critical socio-economic problems while creating job opportunities and building considerable wealth.   The people featured on the list include entrepreneurs building companies in food manufacturing, engineering, technology, hospitality, and other industries, and many have global ambitions.

Khathwane says that the inspiration for her company came from her grandmother, who shared some of her hair-care tips with Khathwane in which she used natural products.  Khathwane then took that information and transformed it into AfroBotanics. The company has since added body care products to their product line-up.
