2013 Tutu Fellow Ifeoma Malo has been awarded the Power Industry Leader of the Year at the prestigious Nigerian African Power, Energy and Water Industry Awards.
Ify is the Nigerian Campaign Director for Power for All, a global decentralized renewable campaign organization. She is also the founder and CEO of Clean Tech Hub and the Energy Innovation Center in Abuja. She was the immediate past Senior Policy Adviser on Energy Policies, Regulations and Partnerships to the Minister of Power in Nigeria and advised on the policy direction for large-scale grid-connected and off-grid power.
The seventh edition of the coveted Nigerian African Power, Energy & Water Industry Awards, held in August 2020, honours the most remarkable and inspiring energy projects and power pioneers on the continent. Only five awards are awarded by industry peers and a judging panel, and Ify walked away with top honours and was awarded the Power Industry Leader of the Year.
This accolade follows a prestigious announcement earlier this year when Ify was named one of the African Power & Energy Elites 2020 Projects and Leaders in African Power & Energy Elites annual industry journal.
Ify explains that “Innovation is achieved through constant ideation, which flows into how we solve problems… knowledge and knowledge-sharing should be democratised; there is something to learn from everyone.”
