2019 Tutu Fellow Sangu Delle's company has opened a new Rabito Clinic in Accra, Ghana. Sangu's company, Africa Health Holdings, opened the clinic in East Legon in July.
The services the clinic will provide include general medicine, dermatology, urology, gynecology, physiotherapy and speech and language therapy. Rabito Clinic’s main area of practice is in dermatology, offering a wide range of treatments for patients with skin problems, including acne, autoimmune and connective tissue disease, HIV-related skin disorders, moles, melanoma surveillance, pigmentation disorders, wound and ulcer care, and more.
The clinic is accredited by Medical and Dental Council, and the Health Facility Regulatory Agency of the Ghana Health Services. There are now 15 active Rabito Clinics throughout the country with clinic headquarters at Osu. The clinics employ about 200 workers from various professions and disciplines.
Sangu's father, Professor Edmund Delle, established the first branch of Rabito Clinic in Accra in 1974. The clinic was named after the professor’s academic mentor, Professor Calogero Rabito, who was the Director of the Dermatological Clinic in the University of Padua, Italy. Since then, the number of clinics have grown to fifteen.
Sangu is the CEO of Africa Health Holdings, an innovative company based in West Africa, focused on building Africa's healthcare future. He is a member of the Harvard Medical School Global Health and Service Advisory Council and is also the co-founder of Cleanacwa, which is a nonprofit working in underdeveloped communities in Ghana to improve water and sanitation. Earlier this year, Sangu donated more than 10,000 PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) to the Ghana Association of Doctors in Residency (GADOR) to be distributed to health facilities across the country.
