Email Confirmation Requirement

Mailbox and distributor email spam rules have become far stricter since the African Leadership Institute first created it's subscribe list.  Subscribers who joined the list but did not confirm their email address are now being flagged. To meet these new rules to meet compliance, AFLI is cleaning its mailing list.  This may mean that your email address may be removed and should you wish to keep receiving mail from AFLI, that you will need to resubscribe below and confirm your email address. 2013 Tutu Fellow Monica Musonda narrates her journey into entrepreneurship as a Zambian woman in this TEDx talk in Euston in the United Kingdom.

She tells how, working for the richest man in Africa, her former employer Dangote asked “Where are the Zambian Banks & Factories?”  Monica reflected on how Nigerians run their economy and this inspired her to actively participate in her own country’s economy.  It is a funny story about the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur, but also about the impact that steps such as these can have in building the African economy.

She is founder and Chief Executive Officer of Java Foods, a Zambian based food processing company. It is committed to providing high-quality and nutritious food from local products at affordable prices. Java Foods’ first product was “eeZee Instant Noodles”, which is Zambia’s leading instant noodle brand today. Monica made her start in law before moving into business as house corporate counsel for Dangote Group. Her experience working with Aliko Dangote, one of Africa’s most successful entrepreneurs, gave her the impetus to start Java Foods.
