2010 Tutu Fellow Robtel Pailey has given a TEDx talk in London on her children's book to fight Gbagba (corruption) in Liberia. She reminds us all that there is nothing inherently African about corruption. Her children’s book was published in 2013 to critical acclaim and subsequently placed on the list of supplemental readers for 3rd to 5th graders in Liberia.
She makes the case that corruption is not just about private or public sector graft but also the dubious ways in which we all cheat the system. This 'trickle down' effect of continuing corruption into the small deeds done by people is part of what makes the challenge of corruption pervasive.
