Professional History: Sandra is the Manager Internal Audit in the Group Internal Audit section of a Suisse multinational oil and gas company, Oryx Engergies. She is a globally exposed executive with more than a decade of experience in managing strategic and operations management system projects across a range of manufacturing and engineering firms. In this role, she provides assurance on the effectiveness of the Group’s governance framework and aligning enterprise risk with corporate objectives.

Sandra is also the founding executive director for Taungana Africa, a regional movement that empowers future African leaders by empowering rural high school girls with access and exposure to to entrepreneurial science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) education and careers. She was responsible for designing the programmes that allowed the movement to impact thousands of rural high schoolers, and an elite group of up to 30 Taungana Ambassadors - rural high school girls - every year since 2014. This took place in four Southern African countries, reached more than 25 provinces and more than 30 rural high school communities. She is an advocate for STEM and female empowerment, and in 2013 she was the founding member for STEM-it-Forward, a grassroots STEM promotion vehicle by South African TechWomen alumni, with which she is still involved.
