Tutu Fellow Ronald Osumba has been appointed by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Chairman of the country's Youth Advisory Board.  The appointment began in March and runs for three years.  The position is key in that Osumba has the potential to make a big difference to the lives and influence of youth in Kenya.

Approximately 60% of Kenya's population is younger than 24 years of age.   In this role Osumba is mandated to advise the National Youth Council and the Government of Kenya on youth related issues. With an election year looming, the role will be critical in steering the youth to become responsible citizens as well as ensuring that youth issues are at the centre of governance
and policy conversations.

Citizen TV carried news of the announcement.
