Professional History


Pacifique Nininahazwe is the President and Legal Representative of the Forum pour le Renforcement de la Soci̩t̩ Civile Burundaise (FORSC), a platform of 146 organizations of the Burundi civil society. Pacifique is very active in the Burundian civil society, fighting corruption, advancing ethnic harmony, and promoting free and fair elections. He was the Founder and President of the Forum for Conscience and Development, which promoted ethnic harmony on Burundian university campuses; the Vice-President of Civil Society Coalition for Election Monitoring; the Secretary General of the Christian Action Against HIV/AIDS and Poverty; Founding member of the Burundi Green Movement; and between 2007 and 2009, served as the President of the Jury for the Prix du Bon Citoyen (Good Citizen Prize). As a human rights activist strongly committed to fighting against impunity, Mr Nininahazwe currently leads the Burundian civil society campaign.
