Professional History: Akeem is the Divisional CEO, Switching and Processing for the InterSwitch Group, Africa’s Leading Switching, and Payments Processing Company. Akeem is a First Class Electrical/ Electronic Engineering graduate of the University of Benin with over twenty (20) years’ experience in electronic payments, payments technology, strategy, and business management.

He also has cognate experience in the implementation and management of projects in the Financial Services sector, Information and Communications Technology as well as in the Oil & Gas industry. Akeem was the head of the technical team that deployed the InterSwitch Super Switch infrastructure and has been working at Interswitch Limited from inception.

Before joining Interswitch, he was a Senior Engineer at TELNET (Nig) Ltd. He also worked at Oildata Services Port Harcourt prior to joining TELNET. While at TELNET, he was responsible for identifying new business opportunities, exploiting these opportunities with minimal time-to-market, and expanding the company’s market share in these new businesses for greater profitability and competitiveness.

Akeem has attended several local and international seminars and training courses in Project Management, Electronic Funds Transfer / Transaction Processing, and Electronic Point-Of-Sale Infocommerce. He is an Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE), as well as a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
