Professional History: Erik Charas is an African entrepreneur and an anti poverty social activist,and has an extensive background and experience in the private and public sector in sub-Saharian Africa. Erik is the Founder and Managing Director of Charas LDA, a private sector company that invests in, and seeks to grow entrepreneurship in Mozambique. Charas LDA's investments target the very bottom strata of society with a view to transforming the next generation and the future of Mozambicans. Charas LDA's investments range from public transport, telecoms,mining, agriculture, amongst others.

His company has been involved in housing developments in Mozambique that has sought to provide entry-level, first homes to young professionals. Additionally Erik is the founder and CEO of Jornal @Verdade Africa.

Academic and professional credentials: Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town
