Professional History: Nyaradzo Machingambi undertakes mainly research consultancies and policy analysis work. She is a listed and stand-by Technical Expert (Refugee Protection) on UNHCR’s International Surge Protection Roster. She was a Peace & Security Research Fellow at Kings College, London where she did research on conflict, security, and development in Africa.

She has worked as an International Consultant for UN Women, Mozambique, and worked as a Research Consultant for The UNHCR Regional Liaison Office for Africa in Addis Ababa. She was a participant at a UNHCR African Region Standards and Indicators Workshop, which involved setting standards and indicators of protection for urban refugee populations in Africa.

Nyaradzo was the Head of Office for Lawyers for Human Rights in Durban. She also worked as Director of the Refugees and Migrants’ Rights Project at the UCT Law Clinic, both of which functioned as implementing partners of UNHCR. She has received training on emergency preparedness & effective humanitarian response by the UNDP Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery in Geneva. She was an expert participant at the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Hearings of the Global Commission on International Migration. She has presented papers at International Conferences and before the South African Parliament (NCOP). She lectured Administrative Law and Interpretation of Statutes for the Law Faculty at NMMU.
