2017 Tutu Fellow Mimi Kalinda has launched a new radio show called Talking To Africa on Africa Business Radio.  Broadcasting weekly on Wednesdays in the afternoons, Mimi discusses with guests the narrative of Africa.

She asks questions such as what is the current narrative, who shapes it, how does it impact the continent’s development and what can be done to ensure Africans own their own storytelling tools and platforms.

Talking to Africa has been on air just over a month and in that time, it has taken a clear-eyed look at difficult questions like: why are African youth emigrating?  Kalinda asks if the narrative of #AfricaRising is just a hoax. She examines the reasons why Africans are fleeing Africa for Europe and looks at the question of slavery in the Gulf Arab region. Other shows cover topics that include: fighting the cultural conflict in African leadership; exposing the failure of the Cameroonian administration; and what is the African narrative and why does it matter.

Mimi's shows are saved as podcasts and can be streamed online.
