Professional History


LadĚŠe Araba is a seasoned development finance and project management specialist with 11 years of professional experience.. She worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization and published FAO Working Papers on increasing the export competitiveness of key agricultural commodities. As a Senior Investment Officer at the African Development Bank, Lade presented and received Board approval for Investment Proposals in infrastructure assets valued in excess of USD 2 billion. As Technical Adviser to the Executive Secretary of UNECA, Lade advised on policy reforms to strengthen infrastructure development, regional integration, and intra-African trade. Her UNECA published Working Paper on the building blocks for an African Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA) was well received by African Ministers of Trade and led to the adoption of a resolution to implement the CFTA at the 2012 African Union Summit. She is a recipient of the prestigious 2011 Mo Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship.
