Isaac Fokuo, Ndidi Nwuneli appointed to US EXIM Bank

2014 Tutu Fellow Isaac Fokuo and 2006 Tutu Associate Ndidi Nwuneli have been appointed members of the 2022-2023 Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee. Isaac was appointed to represent Banking and Finance and Ndidi for Trade/Commerce.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) is the nation’s official export credit agency with the mission of supporting American jobs by facilitating U.S. exports.

EXIM’s President and Chair Reta Jo Lewis said that she was looking forward to working with the new team and that the recommendations and insights from the Sub-Saharan Africa Committee members will be vital in the mission of supporting American jobs through exports. 

The appointments were announced on EXIM’s website on September 6th for the members of EXIM Advisory Committee and Sub-Saharan Africa Advisory Committee for 2022-2023. 

Isaac Fokuo is the founder and CEO of Botho Emerging Markets Group and the founder of the Amahoro Coalition. He is also co-founder and board member of the SinoAfrica Center of Excellence Foundation, an initiative that promotes the exchange of knowledge and ideas between China and Africa.

Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli is the co-founder and Executive Chair of Sahel Consulting Agriculture & Nutrition which works across West Africa shaping agricultural policy, creating catalytic ventures, and implementing ecosystem solutions. She is also the co-founder of AACE Foods, which sources from over 10,000 farmers and produces a range of packaged food products for local and international markets.

To advance American competitiveness and assist US businesses as they compete for global sales, EXIM offers financing including export credit insurance, working capital guarantees, loan guarantees, and direct loans. It is an independent federal agency and contributes to US economic growth.
