Fellow joins the board of First National Bank GH

2017 Tutu Fellow Rosy Fynn has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of First National Bank GH.  First National Bank traces it's roots back to Eastern Province Bank, which started in 1838 in South Africa, but over time evolved and changed ownership and in 1998 started being active in Ghana. It has commercial banks in nine African countries and the Ghana bank offers a wide range of banking products with a focus on digital banking. 

Rosy has extensive experience in the technology, financial services, consulting, and insurance industries, has been a senior executive at three major telecommunications companies, and heads a leading ISP in Ghana.

Jacqueline Musiitwa joins the board of IDEO

2011 Tutu Fellow Jacqueline Musiitwa has joined the board and audit committee of IDEO.  The board appointments occurred at the beginning of March 2021.

IDEO is an international non-profit design studio that designs products and services alongside organizations that are committed to creating a more just and inclusive world.  The design and consulting firm was founded in Palo Alto, California and has offices in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, and China.  IDEO uses design and a human-centred approach to its projects, services, environments, and digital experiences, and has long been at the forefront of creating change and a more just and inclusive world through design.

Edwin Macharia a Director at the Nature Conservancy

2010 Fellow Edwin Macharia has been appointed as a member of the Nature Conservancy global Board of Directors. He was elected to his first three-year term, which started on October 15, 2020. The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental non-profit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. The NGO impacts conservation positively in 79 countries and territories across six continents.

Edwin Macharia is Dalberg Advisors’ Global Managing Partner. In this role, he sets Dalberg’s direction and oversees activities across offices worldwide.  “As The Nature Conservancy continues our mission to tackle some of the world’s biggest environmental challenges with creative, bold, scientifically-based, and scalable solutions, we need creative, bold, and strategic thinkers like John, Michelle, and Edwin to help us accomplish our goals,” said Jennifer Morris, The Nature Conservancy’s CEO.

Access Bank appoints Hassan Usman to the board

2007 Tutu Fellow Hassan Musa Usman has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Access Bank Plc, following the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Access Bank is a Nigerian multinational commercial bank, owned by Access Bank Group. Hassan brings his experience as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Aso Savings and Loans Plc to his board position, as well as other previous experience in this space.
