To Help Solve Global Problems, Look to Developing Countries


To address the problem of counterfeit goods, African entrepreneurs like 2010 Fellow  Bright Simons have come up with innovative and effective ways to confirm products are genuine. Now he asks: Why aren't these solutions everywhere?

In a TED talk he gave in New York at a special event in partnership with the Skoll Foundation and the UN Foundation in September 2019, he demonstrated the power of local ideas.  These include password-protected medicines to digitally certified crops - and with ideas like these he called on the rest of the world to listen up.
