Job Title: Chief Genius, MathsGenius Leadership Institute

Professional History


Edzai Zvobwo is an education evangelist who is committed to empowering the people of Africa through the use of mathematics, problem-solving techniques, and technology. He is the founder of MathsGee, an online supplementary learning platform that provides support for remote learners, and co-founder of The Education Support Forum (TEDSF), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping corporations achieve impact for their targeted beneficiaries. Through these organizations and strategic partnerships, Edzai has played a key role in creating an ecosystem for disseminating information, training, and supporting STEM education throughout Africa.

In July 2022, Edzai was appointed as an Expert Contributor to the High-Level Panel on Emerging Technologies - APET - at the African Union's Development Agency, NEPAD. In this role, he will conduct meaningful research, analysis, and present findings around emerging technologies and their potential benefit for the African continent.

Edzai's accomplishments include being named the SABC Ambassador for STEM; the Agenda 2063 Champion for Skills Development; and a Bill & Melinda Gates Goalkeeper. He has also received several accolades for his work, including the 2014 SADC Protocol on Gender and Development award for his contribution to women's empowerment in education, and being named a Top 40 African EdTech Innovations, mLab GAP ICT Innovations finalist, and SAIS-Finland Innovation Award recipient.

He has spoken on many local and international stages, that include the Mobile 360 North America; SA EduTech Summit, and the United Nations Youth Skills Day in New York.  He was invited to be a contributor to the World Bank Group Youth Summit in 2016.

Edzai is a firm believer that Africa can be liberated if her people are technologically savvy and able to apply structured problem-solving thinking methodologies to find solutions to social, political, and economic problems that have long affected the continent.

He is currently completing a Master of Applied Leadership and Management at Arizona State University.
