The entries published in the Youth Organisations directory are published directly from information supplied by you on a form here on the AFLI website. Please read this entire page to the end before starting. The process is as follows:

  • In order to submit an entry for the Youth Organisation directory you must first register as a user on the site. 
  • For AFLI's security and yours, please use a complex password at least 10 characters long with 2 numbers and at least one capital letter.  Please do not use a password you have used for any other account. Although the registration form says ENTER YOUR DESIRED PASSWORD, the field will not accept a password that does not meet the above criteria.
  • After registering, you will receive an email requiring you to confirm your email address. This is an antispam and antibot precaution.  Only after you have validated your email address will you be able to log in, and only at that point will your user account allow you to proceed further.  Note - AFLI will delete user accounts of individuals and bots every month that have registered but not validated their email address. These email addresses will not be usable again for purposes of registration. So please validate your email address immediately after registration.  If you have an issue with the email address validation process, let us know promptly. 
  • Once you have validated your email address, please log in. Log in locations are on the Home Page, and here at this page at the Staff & User Login locations.
  • After you have logged in, please complete the form to submit a new directory entry. Note - The form will only become visible and be available after logging in.
  • If you are not logged in, following the link to the form will produce an error message or possibly a 404 page failure and it will ask you to log in.
  • After logging in and successfully completing the form, it will not be immediately publicly visible as it will require review by AFLI staff prior to publishing. You may contacted by one of them via email regarding data completeness. 
  • Should any of the organisation's information change in future as it grows or evolves - or if you notice an error in your entry - please use your login and update your directory entry.  It will return to moderated status for review by AFLI staff.

Information you will need to fill out the the form and successfully submit it:

Note that the directory is in English.  Organisations using French or another language should please translate their entries into English when submitting their organisation.  Also, please see the information below regarding the requirement of having a working website.  Should you submit a form with fields incorrectly completed, it won't allow submission until the values in those fields are corrected. Those fields will be red.

To be able to submit the form you will require the following information:

  • Organisation name
  • Organisation Type - is it a Youth-led organisation and/or a Youth-serving organisation?
  • Organisation logo - a jpeg or png file, preferably square.
  • A short, clear description of the mission of the organisation - a tagline
  • The location of the organisation - a physical address that's mappable on Google maps
  • The full name of organisation’s contact person
  • An email address of the organisation that you don't mind making publicly visible (not an individual's email address)
  • A telephone number for the organisation
  • Is the organisation registered or certified
  • By which regulator or government agency and on which date
  • The registration date
  • Areas of focus - Employment and Entrepreneurship; Education and Skills Development; Health and Wellbeing; or Governance and Youth Empowerment
  • The Mission of the organization - more detail
  • Explanation of what the need is that you are meeting, what you are doing, and long-term goals.
  • Social impact Statement - a statement of some metrics is sought for this information, such as 'Since 2016, we have equipped 2000 girls with digital skills'
  • The full name of Founder/President and the full names of co-founders
  • The current President/CEO(if it differs from that of the Founder)
  • Number of staff members?
  • Number of staff members 18-40?
  • Does it provide Women's-Only Programmes?
  • Is the organization profit-making?
  • Does the organization maintain financials?
  • Source of funding / donor(s)
  • The organisation's website. A working website that is owned and controlled by the organisation. A URL for a working website is required for the form to be completed and published.  A social media presence is not a substitute, nor a reference to a third party site. Note that your entry submission will be deleted if the URL that is provided that is does not meet this criterion.
  • Full URLs for all social media used by the organisation. A full URL includes http:// or https://
  • A WhatsApp number, if one is used
  • The number of beneficiaries of the work done by the organisation
  • Countries covered, or geographic footprint
  • Data Submitter Fields
  • Some data submitter fields to be able to have a contact on file for the submission, along with consent to publish and retain the information.
