Professional History


Dr Stellah Wairimu Bosire is the director and founder of SWB Consulting.  She is an award-winning expert in working with not-for-profit organisations, in particular those in the fields of sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality, adolescent and youth health, and rights of sexual and gender minority persons. She is a Board Member of Civicus Alliance; a Global Advisory Board Member of Racism and Global Health, and previously was Co-Executive Director, UHAI EASHRI.

She has served as the CEO of the Kenya Medical Association; Vice Chair of the HIV/AIDS Tribunal of Kenya; and as Chairman of the National Gay, Lesbian Human Rights Commission of Kenya.

Stellah is an Aspen Institute 2018 Fellow and was named one of the 40 Under 40 most influential women in Kenya in 2017; is a 2019 Face of Science Awardee Kenya; a 2019 Accountability International Awardee; and a 2020 Top 100 most influential young people in Kenya.  She is also a Commonwealth Point of light awardee, an honour given by the Queen of England. This latter award was in recognition of her work in gender and human rights. Stellah is a seasoned writer and she has been published in national and International media.  She is an Aspen New Voices Global fellow 2018, and a British Connect Leadership 2019 fellow.
