Job Title: Managing Director and Founder

Professional History

Rose Funja is the founder and Managing Director of Agrinfo Company and co-founder of the She Codes for Change social enterprise. Rose has more than 13 years’ experience working directly with national, international communities focused on digital technologies in solving community challenges.

Until May 2016, when she established her own organizations, she worked in academia as the Director of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Research at the University of Bagamoyo, where she also lectured in ICT courses. She served as Dean from 2013-2015 at the college of Science, Informatics and Built Environment. Rose kickstarted her career at Huawei Technologies International in China as a Product Solution Engineer on wireless technologies. In this role, she pioneered projects in various countries and regions, including China and East and Southern Africa.

Rose has been actively involved in Rotary and served as the Kwanza Club President 2005 at the University of Dar es Salaam.  Rose is a Mandela Washington Fellow for Young African Leaders (2014); and was selected for the US International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP- 2019).
