Job Title: Managing Director, AGRF

Professional History


Debisi is a public policy and strategy specialist. He is the Managing Director at the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF), the premier catalytic, multi-partner platform for food and agriculture transformation in Africa. He is also a member of the Montpellier Malabo Panel of experts, working together to enable better African and European government support of national and regional agricultural development and food security priorities in Sub-Saharan Africa. His passion is in harnessing science and technology to inform and improve decision-making in the public and private sector spaces for local, regional and global impact.

Previously, he was the Africa Region Director at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), a member of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), where he led research strategy and partnership engagement and worked on Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security issues. Prior to CIAT, he was the Senior Technical Adviser on Environmental Policy to the Nigerian Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. He co-authored Nigeria’s National Agricultural Resilience Framework and led global and national partnerships in the development of insurance and climate-smart strategies for the agricultural sector.

Debisi's doctoral studies focused on designing frameworks for incorporating evidence-based research into environmental policy in developing countries.

PhD from the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London
Masters degree in Public Administration from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government
Masters degree in Clean Technology from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne
Bachelors degree in Physical Geography from the University of Ibadan
Louis Bacon Environmental Leadership Fellow (2015), Center for Public Leadership, Harvard Kennedy School.
