Job Title: Founder and Chief Executive of Chapter One Innovation

Professional History


Rori is the founder and Chief Executive at Chapter One Innovation (www.chapterone.co.za), a business model research and development firm headquartered in South Africa. We bring ideas to life as high-impact organizational systems at scale. We help others to do the same through our Co-Lab practice where we partner with corporates and other large organizations on bringing new ideas to life as part of their corporate innovation and venturing activities. We also provide advisory services to corporate CEOs and their top teams with a specialization in business model strategy and innovation. Have had the pleasure and privilege of working in different parts of the world and the continent on bringing ideas to life as high-impact organizational systems at scale across sectors including media, ICT, manufacturing, mining, financial services, public sector, health, non-profit, education, and e-commerce. Hold an MBA from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business with a specialization in Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Sit on the boards of Barloworld Empowerment Foundation (chair the Investment and Sustainability board committee), Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, and SPARK Schools, South Africa's largest low-fee private school network. Took a two-year sabbatical to take up the role as part of the Founding Executive of a political party that successfully won seats in Parliament on its first try. Also a retired radio show host.

MBA from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business.
