Professional History


Elsabeth is a development finance, strategy, and stakeholder/partnership management professional with a career spanning over 15 years within public and private institutions, providing cutting edge global and cross-sectoral project finance and strategic solutions for several large-scale deals in Africa and the Americas. Her multifaceted work in foreign direct investment (FDI), trade, and infrastructure greatly contribute to her strength in leading key stakeholders to effectively locate, evaluate and capitalize on the increasing demand for public-private partnership opportunities.

Elsabeth has served several years as an adviser (formally and informally) to senior leaders as a core liaison between the public and private sector committed to Africa’s sustainable investment. She annually attended the World Economic Forum Africa (WEF Africa) from 2012-2014. As a Senior Investment Officer, she worked within the Office of the CEO, where she led efforts and advised on private sector engagement across sectors. She has led extensive efforts for projects to achieve “bankability” and receive endorsements from Heads of State. Some key achievements include partnerships of the NEPAD Agency/ African Union with WEF (Africa Strategic Infrastructure Initiative) and President Obama’s Power Africa initiative (Africa Power Vision). Finally, she was the focal point for development finance and commercial institutions representing Africa, United States, Japan, and the European Union.

Her current work focuses on investments in Africa and advising senior leaders and investors interested in successfully bridging the gap between 'commercially attractive and socially impactful business' through blended solutions, particularly in Africa and beyond. She is passionate about innovative solutions focused on regional investment to accelerate economic development. As an active participant in education, gender equality, and, private sector development issues, she is committed to ensuring inclusive economic growth. Recently, she has co-founded Makeda Partners LLC, a pan-African investment and advisory firm.
