Professional History

Nathan is Founder and Executive Director of Shimta3 Capital Ltd. Shimta3 is a microfinance company that provides working capital loans to rural and peri-urban traders. He is the former country manager for GlaxoSmithKline, Uganda, a position he has held since 2005. Nathan joined the pharmaceutical industry as a medical representative in 1999 and rose through the ranks. Over this time he has participated in the 7 fold growth in the number of employees. In his role as country manager GSK has introduced over 20 new products in Uganda with 5 going directly to the public sector. Nathan has experience in PPP and was a member of the National Coordination Committee for the introduction of Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) in the Expanded Program of Immunization. Nathan is also involved in establishing the Uganda Health Works PPP. Nathan undertook his undergraduate studies in Biochemistry/Chemistry at Kenyatta University and later joined Makerere University Business School for his MBA.
