Professional History


Buyisiwe Makhunga is a Chartered Accountant with years of corporate finance and private equity experience. She is currently an executive director and investment principal at Kazi Capital, a 100% black-women owned and managed investment firm based in South Africa.

Buyisiwe is an Archbishop Tutu Fellow and completed the African Leadership Development Programme through Oxford University. She was awarded ABSIP's Corporate Financier of the year in 2013. Buyisiwe is also a founding member of the Seeds of Hope Education Initiative, a non-profit organization focusing on the implementation of supplementary academic programs and support in underprivileged schools.

Buyisiwe currently serves as an independent on the board of ELB Group Limited and ELB Group Limited Audit Committee. She also serves on the board of Izandla Property Fund and Izandla Property.
