Job Title: Economist and Development Coordination Officer, United Nation in Namibia.
Professional History
Eunice is the Economist and Development Coordination officer for the United Nation in Namibia. Prior to that, she was the Economic Affairs Officer with the Macroeconomics and Governance Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She coordinates the cooperation and analysis of public-private partnerships. Her work on economic policy advisory spans economic governance, development finance, and public sector management. Eunice leads and contributes to high-level policy development and programme implementation through instruments such as the flagship Economic Report on Africa; the African Governance Report; and other non-recurrent policy studies.
Eunice previously served at UNHQ in New York where she researched and covered a diversity of contemporary economic and social issues, contributing to high-level policy development and providing intergovernmental support through the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. She has undertaken strategic policy analysis at the United Nations Development Programme, contributing to the first Africa Region Human Development Report. She also planned, lead, and coordinated a field mission with the African Development Bank East Africa Regional Service Center.
As a consultant, Eunice has performed strategic policy and programme analysis for organizations that include the Harvard China Fund, Allianz SE, AllAfrica Global Media, and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). Her Africa-related work has been published in scholarly journals and online with platforms such as the Michigan Journal of Political Science and Harvard Business Publishing. Her research on Public Financial Management, Macroeconomic Stability, and Economic Governance Institutions is published in Macroeconomic Policy Framework for Africa’s Structural Transformation, by Palgrave Macmillan in 2017. In 2019, Palgrave Macmillan also published Sectoral Approaches to African Economy in the Palgrave Handbook of African Political Economy.
Eunice regularly facilitates, lectures, and presents at capacity-building, high-level meetings, and events that include the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development; the Africa Trade and Investment Global Summit; the South America-Africa-Middle East-Asia Women Summit; and, the Economist Events Global Summit.
In 2015, she was granted a Global Female Leadership Impact Award and also was inducted into the Global Women Leaders Hall of Fame by the Center for Economic and Leadership Development in Dubai. In 2017, she was selected to be part of the Academic Council on the United Nations System, and the following year, she was selected to the United Nations Emerging Leaders’ Programme.
