Professional History


Dr.Mariam Masha has developed and is implementing the school traffic safety advocacy program for primary and secondary school children. Mariam is also tasked with establishing and implementing a law enforcement training institute to set standards for recruitment and training of 7,000 State Law Enforcement officers. Mariam previously worked for Arrive Alive Road Safety Initiative; WHO Nigeria and was project consultant to the DFID funded SERVICOM project. While doing her post doctoral research,Mariam was also working as the founding project manager for the Road Traffic Injuries Research Network; a partnership of institutions and individuals from over 86 countries collaborating to research on the causes of road traffic injuries in low middle income countries and identifying appropriate interventions for same. A board member of the WHO Violence and Injury Prevention Mentorship Program, she has authored several academic papers on road traffic injuries. Mariam is a dentist with a Master

Qualifications


PhD in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health on Burden of disease from road traffic injuries in the Sub Saharan Africa and south Asia regions
