The African Leadership Institute has hired Bridgette Mdangayi to lead the Ford Foundationgrant-funded leadership initiative.  AFLI was awarded the $800 000 grant in 2017. The grant is to network young leaders from across Africa in order to obtain critical mass for young leaders and enable them to have an impact on the direction of the continent.

Bridgette came on board on 1 March 2018.  She's an independent management consultant and experienced Project and Programme management professional with 10 years’ professional experience in both the NGO and Corporate Sectors.

Her experience is drawn from a wide range of segments in both the NGO and corporate sectors. She has worked in sectors such as: Enterprise Development, Public Health/Health Services, Food Security & Rural Development, Job Creation, Grants Management, Management Consulting, Education, Financial Services, CSI, and Challenge Fund Programmes.

Bridgette holds both Programme & Financial management skills gained from managing large and complex projects and grant budgets reporting directly to regional stakeholders, project and consortium partners. She has international exposure having worked across 19 countries in Africa, within the SADC, ESARO and ECOWAS regions.

A computer science engineer, he was a UN Habitat Youth Advisory Board member representing the Africa region and is the founder of a Social University called Change Champions School in Cote d'Ivoire. As an expert in youth capacity building, youth organization growth and youth leadership, he has contributed a lot to the implementation of youth programs across the world. Josias worked as a Global Internship Program manager with AIESEC, where he was an International Youth Advisor, Consultant and Coach.
