Mandisa qualified as a medical doctor in 1995 from the University of Natal, South Africa. After a few years in private medical practice, she joined the pharmaceutical industry in 2000. She initially worked for Merck, Sharpe and Dohme (MSD) in various positions until she left the company in 2007. Mandisa had always been curious about various aspects of the industry, and hence her unquenchable thirst for wanting to know more. Mandisa obtained a certificate in Advanced Programme Management from Manchester Business School in 2002, a Postgraduate certificate in Pharmacoeconomics from Monash, Australia in 2004. Mandisa joined GlaxoSmithKline South Africa in 2008 as Medical Director.
